What you feel has an origin

Family tradition 🇵🇹

Abyss & Habidecor makes its towelling from exquisite Egyptian cotton from Giza – one of the finest cotton qualities in the world. The extra-long fibres of this type of cotton – Extra Long Staple (ELS) – give the towels exceptional softness, absorbency and durability. At the family's own mill in northern Portugal, the fine cotton yarn is woven using a special process. Not only the warp and weft threads but also the pile (the fluffy loops of the towelling fabric) are woven in. The result is a particularly dense, three-dimensional fabric that feels like pure luxury against the skin.

Thanks to this high material and manufacturing quality, Abyss & Habidecor towels retain their shape, colour fastness and cuddly softness even with daily use and frequent washing. All textiles are of course certified to the strict OEKO-TEX standard.

Craftsmanship, longevity and bespoke production as hallmarks

A passion for quality is reflected in every fibre. Many production steps are carried out by hand with great care – from cutting to finishing. Every premium towel set is made individually for you. This allows an astonishing variety of sizes and even bespoke pieces. You therefore receive towels that suit your needs and the dimensions of your bathroom perfectly.

This special workmanship also makes these towelling products extremely durable. High-quality cotton fibres do not shed lint and lose none of their softness or colour brilliance even after years. An Abyss & Habidecor towel is not a short-term purchase but an investment in lasting comfort. It is everyday luxury that you will enjoy for many years to come.

A variety of colours that inspires

Abyss & Habidecor is known for an impressive range of colours. Many different shades are available so that you can design your bathroom entirely to your taste. Whether you wish to set bold accents or prefer gentle nuances – you are certain to find the right tone here. The palette ranges from rich jewel tones such as emerald or peach through sunny yellow, light blue and delicate pink to timeless classics such as cashmere, beige, elegant grey and even shimmering gold. Every shade is distinguished by depth and luminosity, as the towels are piece-dyed to achieve the most brilliant and long-lasting colour possible. This lets you create your own personal feel-good ambience and bring colour into play without compromising on quality.

Abyss & Habidecor – a family tradition since 1978

Founded by Celso de Lemos, Abyss & Habidecor pursued the aim from the very outset of creating the best towels in the world – always in harmony with traditional craftsmanship and modern design. To this day, the family-run company produces all of its towels, bath rugs and bathrobes in the region around Viseu in northern Portugal. Attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality shape the brand's philosophy. Only selected materials – such as the Egyptian Giza cotton already mentioned – and experienced specialists are used to make towels that are valued in first-class hotels and wellness oases around the globe.

Egyptian cotton towels are usually made from particularly long, fine fibres. This makes the yarn smoother, denser and more durable. In everyday use, this feels softer, absorbs water more quickly and holds its shape better after many washes than many towels made from ordinary cotton.

700 g per square metre stands for a very dense, heavy premium fabric. The towel feels noticeably fuller in the hand, appears voluminous, absorbs a great deal of moisture and dries pleasantly without ever becoming “thin”. It is precisely this weight that makes the difference between a hotel feeling and standard goods.

The feel is soft and at the same time “grippy” in the best sense. The dense loop pile creates a gentle massage effect without scratching. Many experience it as a spa moment, because it feels warm, full and very high in quality.

Once colour and set have been selected, production is scheduled specifically for your order. The towels are made in the chosen configuration, carefully finished and then packaged. The result is not an “off-the-peg” item from a mass batch, but a piece deliberately produced as a premium version.

After your purchase you will receive the order confirmation. The individual production is then scheduled. As soon as the towels are ready for despatch, you will receive the shipping information. This gives you a clear process, from order to arrival.
