At what height should a bathroom vanity unit be installed?

A height of 85 to 90 cm above the finished floor is often given as a guide for the top of a washbasin. The right height depends on users' height, the basin shape and intended use; a countertop basin must be included in the total height. Children or accessible use may require different arrangements. This does not establish a universal private-home standard of exactly 85 cm or a rule that public washbasins must always be higher.
